I feel very fortunate to have been referred to Sport and Spine by the doctors at Orthopedic Associates regarding rehabilitation to my back. I suffered excruciating pain in the way of spasms across my lower back that would put me down for weeks at a time. This was apparently due to old age coupled with years of physical stress to my body from my careers in law enforcement and as a soldier. I found your staff at Sport and Spine not only extremely qualified and very well educated but also dedicated professionals.
Michele Cherry taught me Pilates which I now do every morning, seven days a week; and by doing so it helps me immensely in getting through each day. Her enthusiasm was contagious. She was sincerely delighted (or perhaps surprised) whenever I did them correctly. In spite of a lifetime of weight training, and a multitude of cardio vascular exercises or, by necessity, fighting, I still learned a great deal from her.
Michelle Piper administered trigger point dry needling on my back. It was painful but I haven’t had a spasm episode since my sessions with her. It either worked, or my back muscles are now too scared to spasm.
Shawna Jamison spent the most time working with me administering physical therapy. She seemed to know more about my back than my doctors. She discovered a spine fusion that wasn’t even mentioned in the MRI. I especially appreciated the many hours of hard work she put in through chiropractic, correcting soft tissue damage, locating and massaging other sensitive spinal areas of which I wasn’t aware.
Overall, I found each member of your staff friendly, cheerful, and eager to help. Thanks to them, I have been able to change my daily regimen around my limitations and again enjoy a productive life. They are outstanding representatives of the world of physical therapy and a credit to your profession. I strongly recommend Sport and Spine.
